Teachers' Day is celebrated in India on
5th September. This day is the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan. He was the first Vice President and the second President of
Independent India. He was the scholars of comparative religion and philosophy.
He served as a professor in various renowned universities. His beloved students
and friends requested him to celebrate his birthday and he replied that "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if
September 5th is observed as Teachers' Day". Since then every year his
birthday has been celebrated as Teachers' Day. This is a day to show our utmost
love and respect to our teachers who sacrifices their valuable time to teach us
lessons for life. The first teacher of my life is my father and mother. They
teach me how to be disciplined, how to show respect, and many more things which
helped me to become a good person. And sometimes they also rebuked me and that
also helped me not to repeat the same mistakes. And my second but the most
important teacher of my life is my school teachers. They taught me many good
things outside of the syllabus too which helped me to be cultural, disciplined and to be
knowledgeable. And in my college life my professors are really very helpful. In
my school days we used to wear saree on Teachers' Day and played teacher's role
for the juniors of my school. I really missed those school days.
A very
Happy Teachers' Day to all my respected teachers and my parents too. You are
the most important person of my life. I am who I am today only because of the
true sacrifices of my parents and my teachers.
