Bhapa Ilish II Steamed Hilsa By Soumi's Kitchen Theory

Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing well. In this rainy season we love to eat "Hilsa" or 'Ilisha" fish. Here I'm going to share you a  mouthwatering, simple recipe of  Steamed Hilsa fish or "Bhapa Ilish". It needs only 15-20 minutes to prepare. Here the steps are:-


Utensils:
You need a medium size kadai with lid, a air tight leakage proof medium size steel                                lunch box.

Ingredients:
1.3-4 piece of Hilsa fish (only the middle part of the fish).
2. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder.
3. 1/2 teaspoon Salt.
4. 1 teaspoon of black Mustard seed paste.
5. 1 teaspoon of white Mustard seed paste.
6. 2 pieces Green chili paste.
7. 2 teaspoon of Mustard Oil.
8. Green and red chili for garnishing.

Steps: Clean the pieces of Hilsa fish properly. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, mix properly. Then add 1 teaspoon of black mustard seed paste, 1 teaspoon of white mustard seed paste,2 pieces Green chili paste and 2 teaspoon of Mustard Oil , mix all of these with the Hilsa fish pieces. Then pour this into a  air tight leakage proof medium size steel lunch box. Add 2-3 piece green chili and red chili for garnishing. Close the box properly. Place a medium size kadai on your oven. Fill half of the kadai with water. Boil the water. When the water start boiling place the lunch box inside the kadai. Cover the kadai with lid. Keep boiling the water for 6-7 minutes. Then switch off your oven. Now your tasty, delicious steamed Hilsa is ready to serve. You can have it with some steamed rice.
Tips:
1.You may add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut paste (optional).
2. Hilsa fish has essential fatty acids (Omega 3 fatty acids) which helps to develop our eyes bright and healthy. Hilsa fish could help lower cholesterol level.
3. Masterd seeds are a high source of magnesium which help lowering blood pressure.
